Jackie ‘The Joke Man’ Martling at LIFF

Friday night, June 1st, at 7:30 p.m., comedian and radio personality Jackie Martling, Bayville resident and a long-time Long Islander (Oyster Bay High School, Class of '66), will introduce the Luis Moro-directed comedy, "Totally Baked."

Jackie will relate a few of his hilarious experiences in the world of independent film, working with Florence Henderson, Frank Gorshin, Sylvia Miles, and countless others, as well as his experiences in fifteen years as the head writer of the funniest and most successful radio show in history, "The Howard Stern Show." And count on hearing a few jokes.

Opening Night of Festival

Special Screening of 1954 classic film SABRINA as a commemoration to the 50th anniversary of Humphrey Bogart's death.

May 31st at the Glen Cove Mansion - 200 Dosoris Lane, Glen Cove.

In person for the post screening panel discussion includes Steven Bogart - son of Lauren Bacall and Humprey Bogart - writer/producer/film historian John Mulholand and film expert Jack Green.

The Long Island Film Festival celebrates its 24th year this season in the Spring of 2007 with two new venues!

  1. Glen Cove Mansion (Gold Coast Estate)
  2. Wunsch Arts Center also in the City Glen Cove, which boasts a 1000 seat auditorium.

Updates for screening programs, receptions, celebrity attendance, panels, sponsors, special events and media
guests will be announced next month.

The Long Island Film Festival has noted alumni, including: LI native Hal Hartley (The Unbelievable Truth, Simple Men, Henry Fool), Tamara Jenkins (The Slums of Beverly Hills starring Alan Arkin), Matthew Harrison (Rhythmn Thief- Grand Jury Award-Sundance), Larry Fessenden (Habit, Windigo), Scott Saunders (The Technical Writer), Greg & Gavin O'Connor (Tumbleweeds), Jamie Redford (Spin), Kevin Jordan (Brooklyn Lobster).
